The bold new company makes its debut this season with To Life Beyond – an evening of transcendent music that delves into the mysteries of death, rebirth, and beauty, all framed in a stunning visual world that speaks to the elegance and drama of couture.

Founded by soprano and fashion model Yuliya Trishkeu, Opera Vera enters the scene with a distinctive voice – modern, meticulously curated, and unapologetically glamorous. With a deep commitment to both artistic excellence and visual beauty, the company crafts performances that resonate with anyone drawn to powerful music, compelling stories, and striking imagery.

To Life Beyond presents two hauntingly beautiful vocal cycles: Dmitri Shostakovich’s Seven Romances on Poems of Alexander Blok (Op. 127), and Beggar’s Belief by acclaimed British composer Adam Gorb. Though written decades apart, both works move through shadows of grief and mortality, emerging into radiant clarity. Rather than shy away from death, this program confronts it with poetic courage and spiritual grace. The result is a performance that is as intellectually arresting as it is emotionally cathartic.

At the heart of the production is Trishkeu herself, whose voice glows with both strength and vulnerability – the golden thread binding the musical and visual worlds together. She is joined by a powerhouse ensemble: pianist and music director James Gillett, whose interpretations gleam with precision and poise; violinist Mollie Wrafter; and cellist Rebekah Clarke, who together create a sonorous tapestry of grief, hope, and transformation.

But what truly sets this debut apart is its aesthetic vision. Partnering with the Ambience Agency, Opera Vera has shaped a visual identity that is as stylish as it is stirring. Known for their elegant branding and social media artistry, Ambience ensures that every outward-facing element – from promotional materials to digital presence – supports and amplifies the emotional resonance of the music. The performance is not just heard, but felt, seen, and remembered.

To bring this vision to life, fashion and photography were essential collaborators. The breathtaking imagery promoting To Life Beyond was captured by acclaimed photographer Jo Morley, whose lens conjures a world of golden opulence and quiet introspection. The shoot, drenched in warm tones and crystalline textures, evokes the very essence of the program: the shimmer of life, even in the shadow of mortality.

The styling, too, is key. Opera Vera is proud to showcase gowns by Team Prom Nottingham, whose couture craftsmanship and refined silhouettes align seamlessly with the company’s artistic identity. The featured look – a cascade of golden embroidery and ethereal fabrics – is not merely costume, but character: a visual echo of the program’s themes of transcendence and transformation.

Whether you're a lifelong Opera lover or stepping into this world for the first time, Opera Vera invites you to feel, to dream, and to see differently.
